Update, 10 a.m. May 29: Voting this round has closed.
In the end, it came down to just eight votes.
After almost 3,000 votes were cast over a two week period, their story wasn’t unique. The first round saw narrow victories in about half of the races: Seven of 16 matchups were decided by a 50-something-to-40-something percent split.
The only thing that is certain is there aren’t many clear favorites when it comes to Pittsburghers and their food trucks.
While Nakama and Mission Mahi saw the tightest race during Round 1, that matchup was followed closely by two sets with 51 to 49 percent victories: Gyros N’at over Michele’s Mobile Meals and Rolling Cones over Stickler’s Ice Pops.
Will we see more tight races as 16 trucks fight their way into the Elite Eight? You have until 10 a.m. Monday, May 29 (yes, Memorial Day) to vote. Check back May 30 to see who made the Elite Eight.
