Peculiar Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh had a good time with that video of a dumpster floating down Route 51
Everyone else has dumpster fires. Not us.

Just casually floating down Route 51

It was not unlike a dumpster fire.
As heavy rain trounced the South Hills on Wednesday night, a blue dumpster seemed to float effortlessly along a flooded Route 51.
The powerful rain left precipitation totals from 0.5 to 2 inches over five hours, said John Darnley, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Moon Township. And the already wet ground caused run off and flooding. Unlike typical thunderstorms that move through the area, this storm developed over the South Hills and stayed there, he said. KDKA-TV reported that there were a few vehicle rescues but no injuries.
And, of course, the rain isn’t over yet. Darnley said showers are expected on and off today, but the heaviest rain will fall tomorrow. Allegheny County could get 0.5 an inch over 48 hours.
