Lindsey Van der Veer

Head of Sales and Events

Within four months of launching, The Incline has expanded its team and welcomed Sales and Events Manager Lindsey Meyers Van der Veer.

Lindsey brings to The Incline six years of event planning experience in Pittsburgh, including four years spent in the public sector working on Mayor Bill Peduto’s campaign and his administration. She most recently acted as the special events administrator for the city’s Department of Parks & Recreation.

“Lindsey brings fresh ideas and great energy to The Incline. Her extensive experience working in events for the City of Pittsburgh is a huge asset. We are very excited to add Lindsey to our team,” said Ryan Croyle, The Incline’s vice president for sales and events.

Lindsey will plan and run events for The Incline and find sponsors for those events.

“I am excited by the opportunity to join The Incline team, where I will create events to showcase Pittsburgh and what all of its wonderful people have to offer,” she said.

Recently, Lindsey helped plan events for the city’s bicentennial celebrations, including a luncheon for 500 mayoral descendants, and gave a bus tour of the Strip District for 50 elected officials from across the country during the National League of Cities conference. She also recruited and organized more than 500 volunteers for The Great Race.

While working on Peduto’s campaign, Lindsey worked as the finance coordinator before becoming events coordinator and treasurer. In that role, she organized nearly 50 fundraising events, two victory parties and an Inauguration Day ceremony and celebratory party attended by more than 5,000 people.

In her own time, Lindsey oversaw functions for the Pennsylvania Society, an annual weekend retreat for Pennsylvania’s politicians and business leaders held in New York City, for both Peduto and County Executive Rich Fitzgerald.

Lindsey earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Allegheny College. A Pittsburgh native, she resides in the Strip District and is actively engaged in the community, serving on a board of advisors with Strip District Neighbors.
